A dance collaboration between Andrea Sendek and Rosalyn Salters. Rhava is unique and pioneering with a repetoire rooted in the groundbreaking Salimpour format of belly dance while incorporating elements of other classical Western and Eastern dance forms. Rhava defines contemporary dance and life in its multi-cultural blending of universal themes that speak to global audiences.

With a rich background in the performing arts, Andrea shares her lifelong involvement in acting, music and dance in her role as instructor and performer. Accumulating over a decade of experience in various dance genres (belly dance, bharatanatyam, ballet and modern) Andrea integrates philosophies from these various forms into her teaching and performance style. She is studying ballet and modern at CCSF and plans to pursue a Master’s in dance. She is currently Level 4 certified in the Suhaila Format, an instructor at the Suhaila Salimpour School of Belly Dance and a member of the Repertoire Ensemble presented by Suhaila Salimpour. She travels internationally (e.g. Chile, Canada, Hong Kong, etc.) teaching the Salimpour method and sharing her artistry.

In addition to a professional background and Masters in ecotourism, Rosalyn also maintains a lifelong dedication to the arts. She has a background in dance (various genres), music (piano, harp, Native American drumming), and visual arts. Her formal dance training encompasses African Diaspora dances, ballet, belly dance, Bharatanatyam, Latin/Caribbean, modern, jazz and tap. She has performed with the Zawati African Dance Group, Suhaila Salimpour Dance Company, as a background dancer for Carlos Santana/Michelle Branch, among others. She is Level 1 certified in the Suhaila Format and plans to pursue the format’s full certification as well as a PhD in dance. With over 17 years of cumulative dance training, performing and teaching experience in the United States and Europe, the culmination has instilled in her a vast knowledge and ability to unite the underlying essence of various art forms.
